Dieting is hard. It’s especially hard when you’re trying to emulate Jared Fogle, the Subway spokesman who lost over 200 pounds while eating Subway sandwiches.
One man named Zachary Rapheal Torrance, 18, had such difficulty seeing results from this diet, he felt he deserved a refund.
But, instead of walking into a Subway and asking for his money back, he decided to rob four of them at gun point.
Torrance was arrested last week in Hueytown, Alabama, after someone recognized him in a Walmart and alerted police.
He has been charged with first-degree robbery and is being held on a $250,00 bond.
It is unclear how much money Torrance took from the restaurants, but I’m willing to bet the crime will not be worth the punishment.
Although Jared may have eaten a great many Subway sandwiches while he lost all that weight, it was certainly complemented by a stringent exercise routine.
The irony here is that Torrance may not be able to eat Subway while incarcerated, but he may very well have the opportunity to get in better shape.
